Job Description

Our 100% vegetarian Indian restaurant in Chermside requires a team of experienced and qualified full-time chefs. There are multiple roles available within the restaurant including Curry chef,Tandoori cook,South indian cook, Indo-Chinese cook,Gujarati nasta and allrounder staff to support our growing restaurant''s business.Multiple applicants required for multiple roles. 
We are looking for individuals who takes pride in the fact that every single dish leaving their pass is perfect. You need to be a level-headed person who can work in a team or as an individual during crazy service periods. Bring a sense of humour, ingenuity and flare for food and you''ll be well on your way to becoming a member of the team. With a variety of catering options available at the restaurant, candidates should have experience preparing quality and large volume food in a-la-carte restaurant and street food.
All applicants are required to be comfortable with cooking vegetarian food. Applicants for cooks/chefs roles are required to have a valid experience, skills, knowledge and should be able to prove themselves in fast paced busy kitchen. Applicants are required to possess required skills to work on tandoor or larder section/wet dishes(curries) or south indian food/gujarati nasta.These are multiple roles and therefore seperate applications required for above mentioned positions.genuine applicants only. 1 on 1 interviews will be held. All applicants are required to mention the position they are applying for .All positions are full time whereas 3 months prohibition period will be applicable. Contract can be made if required.
If you think you are good at one section either be North indian or south indian/gujarati, tandoor or indo chinese, than this is the job for you.

The following skills are essential:
You must have experience with an Indian al carte/street food Set up as a Head Chef/ Sous Chef,south indian/gujarati nasta chef, chef/tandoori chef and any experience within an Indian Five Star kitchen would be preferred.
Specialise in either of (South Indian/gujarati cuisines, north indian,indo-chinese or bombay street food) and must be able to create new and innovative recipes.
Ability to maintain high and consistent food standards at all times.
Demonstrate stability & loyalty in previous employment.
Confident in managing a fast paced kitchen.
Strong understanding of the operational management of the kitchen including costing, stock taking, cost control, ordering, reducing wastages & rostering.
Excellent food knowledge, eye for detail, creative flair and dedication
Knowledge of tandoori items.
Well aware of Indo-Chinese cuisine
Be conscientious, ambitious and very reliable
Preparing large volume quality food
Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations
Ability to work without supervision
Work efficiently under pressure
Great attitude with a focus on being a part of a team
Hands-On attitude
Due to the nature of the industry the successful applicant must be available to work a flexible roster, over a 7 day week, including day and night shifts if required. Access to own transport will be required.
