Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant with a recognised degree in business or commerce with a major in accounting. This role will be integral in supporting the Financial Controller in the operation of the Head Office in Mildura. The successful candidate will possess the relevant qualifications, hold membership of a professional body (CPA) and have experience in budgeting and reporting. We need someone who is inquisitive with great communication skills to engage our operational staff and develop their financial skills. Due to contractual obligations, all applicants are required to undergo a Police check. JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Position Objectives Supporting the Financial Controller in the operation of a Shared Service Centre, and the overall Finance function. Assisting in the preparation of monthly Board and branch management reports. Engaging operational staff to assist in developing their financial skills. Input into the effective operation of the general ledger and other working capital control systems. Assisting in the optimisation of financial information systems. Undertake monthly balance sheet reconciliation Preparation and lodgement of monthly Business Activity Statements Maintain Asset Register Undertake other duties and training as directed. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Essential National Police Check Right to Work in Australia Recognised degree in business or commerce with a major in accounting, together with membership of a professional body. Demonstrated accounting experience ideally within a multi-site commercial organisation. Practical experience working with integrated financial systems. High level knowledge of accounting and financial principles, standards and practices. Demonstrated advanced skills and experience in spreadsheet design and application. Proven experience in preparation, analysis and presentation of a broad range of financial and management reports.
