It is an exciting time to come and join our team and work at Ballarat Health Services (BHS). We are currently undergoing an extensive master planning process to redevelop our two main campuses in Ballarat, for which significant first stage funding was announced in the Victorian Budget in May 2018.
BHS is working with other health services in the Grampians health region to support and strengthen the delivery of high quality and timely care to a regional and rural population of approximately 250,000 people, and this provides opportunities for involvement of the DCMO in regional governance and improvement in population health outcomes. In addition BHS is collaborating with St John of God Ballarat, and Ballarat's own Federation University, as well as with Deakin, Melbourne, Notre Dame and Latrobe Universities and the Australian Catholic University (all of which train health professionals in Ballarat), to establish the Ballarat Innovation and Research Collaboration for Health (BIRCH). With research programs across health services and integrated care research, aged care research, and primary, population and social determinants of health research, there is great scope for the DCMO to be involved in research.
You will need to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, along with a track record of training and experience in medical leadership and management.
