Fixed Plant Shutdown Supervisor Lead a safe positive highly skilled and close-knit team Work across an extensive array of fixed plant People’s bucket list is your backyard – Live in Weipa   Benefits Domestic relocation assistance on offer Weipa accommodation benefit Five weeks annual leave Remote area allowance Remote area holiday travel assistance Paid parental leave up to 9 months Health cover scheme for employees and their immediate family Salary sacrifice & packaging options – rental mortgage super vehicle Rio Tinto employee share programme Employee discounts – banking accommodation motoring retail and more Where you will be working Rio Tinto Weipa is located 900km north-west of Cairns on the Gulf of Carpentaria and has been operating for over 50 years   About the role We are looking for a Fixed Plant Shutdown Supervisor to lead mentor coach and develop a team of shutdown coordinators and technical officers who are responsible for coordinating and leading fixed plant maintenance shutdowns across our Weipa Operations This role is a great opportunity for those seeking a challenging work environment where you will be working with a great team across multiple sites Working a residential 5 days on 2 days off roster and reporting to the Superintendent Shutdown Management you will be Ensuring all Rio Tinto Health and Safety Standards policies and procedures are being adhered to Providing direct Supervision and Leadership to a team responsible for coordinating and delivering fixed plant shutdowns Driving a positive safety culture through pro-active visible & authentic safety leadership Fostering a team culture of continuous improvement and innovation including cost reduction initiatives Understanding the team and their strengths whilst working with them to ensure that safety is first and that the correct work is completed on time & budget Manage safety investigations prepare reports and recommendations for the implementation of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence Ensuring effective communication between all teams and support staff and communicating business department priorities to the team in a timely manner Constantly developing team capability through use of the performance review process and ensuring succession plans are in place
About you What you will need for this role To succeed in this role you will have   A C class driver’s license Demonstrated leadership experience in a maintenance mining environment A working knowledge of SAP system for maintenance A relevant Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification or Engineering degree It will also be highly desirable though not essential if you have Previous experience within a similar planning or shutdown management role A certificate in Front Line Management or equivalent will be desirable
